7 actions to take immediately following an EMP strike

The threat of an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) strike on this country is a very well documented one, I have written about the threat in the past and have used information from the EMP Commission report which was published in 2004 in several of my articles.  Most recently I read an article published over on the Economic Collapse Blog which sums up nicely what impact an EMP strike would have on our country.

An electromagnetic pulse can range from a minor inconvenience to a civilization-killing event. It just depends on how powerful it is. But in the worst case scenario, we could be facing a situation where our electrical grids have been fried, there is no heat for our homes, our computers don’t work, the Internet does not work, our cell phones do not work, there are no more banking records, nobody can use credit cards anymore, hospitals are unable to function, nobody can pump gas, and supermarkets cannot operate because there is no power and no refrigeration. Basically, we would witness the complete and total collapse of the economy.

So what actions should you take immediately following an EMP strike?  Remember that time will be critical, the first few hours (days at most) will enable you to get a jump on everyone else and set the stage for your success.  You will immediately know that an EMP, be it from a nuclear weapon or massive solar flare, will have struck your area.  Your car will no longer work, your cell phone won’t work, the power will be out everywhere, planes will have fallen from the sky.  You will know it was an EMP but the vast majority of the public will not, they will be quite literally sitting around waiting for someone to tell them what to do.  You won’t know how large the scope of the strike is but you will have to assume the worst, which would be a nationwide outage.

First things first, if you are at work, get home.  Your boss no longer has authority over you, your co-workers no longer are a priority.  They will be trying to restart a computer that will never again work, trying to restart their smartphone, sitting in the break room trying to call 911 and saying things like: “This is ridiculous, I’m going to miss my 3pm sales call!”  You on the other hand will go to you car and change into the extra set of clothes and shoes you keep in the trunk.  You will don your “get home bag” and start walking, hopefully your walk will not take more than a day.

Once home it is time to start implementing your plan.  Remember time is absolutely critical and you only have a small window of it in order to set yourself up for success.  During these initial hours and days people will still have faith that some sort of government agency will come in to make everything better.  They will expect to see the power come back on any minute because someone will surely do something.  They will tell each other to sit tight, just hold on for a day or so because eventually the HMMWV’s will roll in loaded with supplies and some military officer or government official will explain that this is merely a temporary problem, nothing to worry about, sorry for the inconvenience.  You know better because you realize just how devastating an EMP strike is and the reality is that it could be months before systems start to come back online.  It will only take a week or two (at most) before things start getting really ugly because people start going hungry.  With all of that that in mind you take these 7 actions because you were prepared for this to happen.

1- Use your cash.  In the first few days after an EMP strike cash will still have value.  Take all of your cash and that radio flyer wagon your kids have and walk down to the corner store.  Avoid the big retail stores, I suggest finding the corner gas station or local drug store.  The owner of the store will no doubt be there, concerned that the items in the store are unprotected during a power outage.  Explain to the owner that you are in need of some supplies, can pay cash and do not require change.  Tell him/her that you will give them an extra $100 to allow you to “shop” for a few minutes.  Load up your wagon with anything you can find to include medication, candy bars, water bottles, pop tarts, lighters, hand sanitizer etc etc.  Of course you should be well stocked at home but you might as well get rid of your worthless paper money in exchange for any amount of extra supplies you can get your hands on.  In a week (maybe less) most stores will be completely looted so you need to take advantage of this moment.

2- Fill up the tub(s) with water.  Hopefully you have a water bob for each bath tub in your home in addition to several other water storage devices and water purification/filtration devices.  Remember a down grid means that fresh water will stop flowing to your home very quickly.  Fill up your tub as soon as you can, that extra hundred or so gallons could prove invaluable.  If you are concerned about the quality of the water remember you can add 8 drops of regular Clorox bleach per gallon to help purify what you have in the tub.

3- Talk to your neighbors.  This step is absolutely critical, you have to get out and talk to your close neighbors and explain to them what is going on.  They will be in denial for the most part, hopefully you have copies of the EMP report printed off which you can distribute as you go door to door.  Explain to them what is going on and that time is critical, let them know a worst case scenario means that there will be no help coming for quite a long time.  Additionally mention the following to them.

a. Discuss a neighborhood watch.  Tell them that in a few days or weeks things will get dangerous with hungry people roaming the streets.  It is essential that you define your neighborhood’s boundaries and set up a neighborhood watch of sorts, assigning people to different shifts.

b. Offer to hold a meeting.  Set a time that you will have a meeting at your home, say every day after sunrise in your garage.  Tell them they are invited and that every day you will be there passing out information.  At first you might not have anyone attend these meetings, in a few days there will be a handful and in a week you might have 50 or more hungry, scared, tired people demanding answers.  If you are going to assume the role of a leader, be prepared to do just that.

c. Tell them to use their cash.  Much like you should have already done, tell them that their cash will soon be worthless and that they need to get down to the market to spend it.  Most people have no cash on hand, so this probably won’t be a real issue.

d. Tell them to inventory their supplies.  Most people have 3 to 5 days food on hand in their home.  You should mention that they need to start rationing what they have, and taking inventory of everything else.

e. Start identifying those with skills.  I wrote about how to organize a survival community as well as what skills will be valuable after T-SHTF in a few recent articles  While making the rounds in your neighborhood you should start identifying who has special skills and make note of it.  Cops or military personnel could help with security, Doctors have obvious value, and so on and so forth.

4- Start rationing food.  Hopefully you have at least a 1 year supply of food for your family, if not more.  Start rationing immediately because more than likely you will have to share some of your food with your neighbors.  It will be unavoidable, you will need their help to survive as a community and there is absolutely no way that they will starve while watching you and your family live high on the hog.  This doesn’t mean that you cannot oversee how some rations are distributed, or seek out other sources of food, but just remember nobody gets through SHTF alone.

5- Hygiene preparations.  Consider where you are going to dispose of your human waste, it might be a good time to start digging that pit.  Also consider where you will dispose of your trash and if you will bury it or burn it.  Remember the trash man won’t be around next Sunday and your toilets will stop flushing very quickly.

6- Listen to your weather radio.  Prior to the EMP strike you had a small solar/hand crank weather radio secured in an old microwave in the basement, it still works.  You should monitor NOAA Weather Radio frequencies throughout the day in case there is information being published which you can use to stay informed.  Maybe the strike only covered 500 square miles and help will be on the way in a week, or maybe there is nothing but static…not a good sign.

7- Consider your own security plan.  Despite all of the actions you are taking, trying to help those within your community by reaching out to organize them, realize that not everything goes to plan.  There could be dissenters within your neighborhood or those outside of your community who might choose to take advantage of the situation.  Looting will become prevalent very quickly and no neighborhood will be immune.  Consider your security plan, this is no time to rely on the charity and goodness of mankind.  Remain suspicious of all activity and never walk around unarmed.  Never allow your family members to venture out alone and remember to stay in after dark.  All of that said I would caution against using deadly force unless absolutely necessary.  Protect yourself and your family but remember that there will come a time when the power does come back on and people will be held accountable for their actions.

An EMP strike on our nation will be an absolutely catastrophic event and while I’m sure all of us hope that something like this never happens, hope is never a course of action.   Despite our best efforts to prepare for such an event there is a good chance that many will not survive.  Some have predicted that within a year of a strike, 9 out of 10 Americans would be dead.  In sports success or failure on the field of play is determined months before the actual game by how much dedication the athletes displayed during practice.  In much the same way success or failure following an EMP strike will have been determined by how seriously we took our prep strategy in the months or years prior, as well as actions which we take immediately after.  Life isn’t fair, plan accordingly.

What’s Ahead: Food the new oil, clean water the new gold; Americans need to prepare for extreme weather patterns

(Oct 13) One of the world’s leading environmentalists issued a warning that the global food supply system could collapse at any point, leaving hundreds of millions more people hungry, sparking widespread riots and bringing down governments.

“We are beginning a new chapter. We will see food unrest in many more places. Armed aggression is no longer the principal threat to our future. The overriding threats to this century are climate change, population growth, spreading water shortages and rising food prices.”

Record heatwaves and droughts in the US and other major food-exporting countries had hit harvests badly and could trigger a major hunger crisis in 2013 because world grain reserves are so dangerously low – the lowest level since 1974.

In the last 10 years prices have doubled as demand for food has increased with a rapidly growing world population and millions have switched to animal-based diets, which require more grain and land. UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) say it’s unlikely the prices will normalize anytime soon. Even if things do not boil over this year, by next summer many more will be exposed to the effects of anything that hurts production.

“An unprecedented period of world food security has come to an end. The world has lost its safety cushions and is living from year to year. This is the new politics of food scarcity. We are moving into a new food era, one in which it is every country for itself.”

The ever greater number of weather-related crises suggests strongly that climate change is beginning to bite and that the heatwaves, droughts and excessive rainfall around the world in the last few years have not been a blip, but a new reality. Every 1C above the optimum in the growing season equates to roughly a 10% decline in grain yields. Simply put, rising earth’s temperature is devastating food supplies.

A whole day’s work for a little wheat or barley? It may be difficult for us to imagine food being so expensive in the near future but that’s also what the expert is predicting. We’ve warned about these things for a few years now.

We’re used to thinking that the rich aren’t like the regular folks because they are recession-proof. Can you imagine there will come a time when the rich will find a pound of gold not worth an ounce of bread?

We used to say “there will be the time when…” and that time has come – less produce is forthcoming from the earth; massive crop failures will soon lead to starvation and contaminated fresh water will cause diseases to become rampant.  In the nations that are already starving, millions will perish.Famine is a reality for millions, and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization estimates that 800 million people go hungry each day, and malnutrition in children contributes to over half of child deaths.

(Oct 11) As climate change continues to “load the dice” and increase the frequency of heat waves, drought and wildfires across our country, Americans need to prepare and plan for these extreme weather patterns. Yesterday, NRDC and National Wildfire Federation called on the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to mandate states to consider climate change when they create their natural disaster mitigation plans.

In 2011, America experienced 14 disastrous weather events that created over a billion dollars in damages each—an all-time record. Taken together, extreme events cost our country at least $55 billion in 2011. This year has delivered another round of extreme events, from record-breaking heat waves to freak storms and devastating wildfires. The cost of the drought alone could rise to $77 billion. (Source)

The climate is in a state of flux – it is no longer reliable and there is no normal anymore. And the situation is not temporary. Many who laugh and scoff at end times prophecies keep saying that the world will go on – one generation passing over and another taking its place. Well, what kind of world would that be? It will be one plagued by food and water crises along with worsening weather -climate change is increasing the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events like drought, heat waves, downpours, and intense storms. 

Members of the elite class know the future is bleak – they have come to realize Mother nature is going to continue to take an heavy toll upon mankind and this planet. Resources are limited and population growth is out of control – the world’s population is already 7 billion plus!  They know that a breakdown is inevitable and they have plans – population control is one of them. In other words, this world will continue its legacy of centuries of conflict and exploitation as it descends into chaos and become an environmental wasteland. That is why many will welcome the anti-Christ, hoping he will bring solutions to the world’s most intractable problems. He gives them hope that humanity will come together, save the planet and build a unified society of peace and harmony.

HAARP Clouds Over Knoxville And Other Locations

The High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) is an ionospheric research program jointly funded by the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Navy, the University of Alaska, and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).

Built by BAE Advanced Technologies (BAEAT), its purpose is to analyze the ionosphere and investigate the potential for developing ionospheric enhancement technology for radio communications and surveillance. The HAARP program operates a major sub-arctic facility, named the HAARP Research Station, on an Air Force–owned site near Gakona, Alaska.

The four photos of clouds appeared over Knoxville, Tennessee on January 8th.  The photographer, who wishes to remain anonymous, believes they are evidence of HAARP in action.  Physicist Bernard Eastlund claimed that HAARP includes technology based on his own patents that has the capability to modify weather and neutralize satellites.

The HAARP program began in 1990. The project is funded by the Office of Naval Research and jointly managed by the ONR and Air Force Research Laboratory, with the principal involvement of the University of Alaska. Many other universities and educational institutions of the United States have been involved in the development of the project and its instruments, namely the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Stanford University, Penn State University (ARL), Boston College, UCLA, Clemson University, Dartmouth College, Cornell University, Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland, College Park, University of Massachusetts Amherst, MIT, Polytechnic Institute of New York University, and the University of Tulsa. The project’s specifications were developed by the universities, which are continuing to play a major role in the design of future research efforts.

Former Governor of Minnesota and noted conspiracy theorist Jesse Ventura questioned whether the government is using the site to manipulate the weather or to bombard people with mind-controlling radio waves. An Air Force spokeswoman said Ventura made an official request to visit the research station but was rejected-”he and his crew showed up at HAARP anyway and were denied access”.

Bernard J. Eastlund (1938 – December 12, 2007) was a physicist who received his B.S. in physics from MIT and a his Ph.D. in physics from Columbia University. In 1970 he received a Special Achievement Certificate from the U. S. Atomic Energy Commission for co-invention of the “fusion torch.”

Eastlund authored three patents (US Patents #4,686,605, #4,712,155, and #5,038,664) that, it is claimed, led to the development of the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP).

He was the founder of Eastlund Scientific Enterprises Corporation (ESEC), a small company in Houston, Texas that provided scientific, engineering and technical services.  Bernard Eastlund died December 12, 2007. In his final days he continued to explore research in advanced physics topics and applications, even holding meetings at his hospital bedside.

Here are three more examples of the HAARP clouds over Knoxville.

The most prominent instrument at the HAARP Station is the Ionospheric Research Instrument (IRI), a high-power radio frequency transmitter facility operating in the high frequency (HF) band. The IRI is used to temporarily excite a limited area of the Ionosphere. Other instruments, such as a VHF and a UHF radar, a fluxgate magnetometer, a digisonde, and an induction magnetometer, are used to study the physical processes that occur in the excited region. 

Work on the HAARP Station began in 1993. The current working IRI was completed in 2007, and its prime contractor was BAE Systems Advanced Technologies. As of 2008, HAARP had incurred around $250 million in tax-funded construction and operating costs.

HAARP has been blamed by conspiracy theorists for a range of events, including numerous natural disasters. Mainstream commentators dismiss such allegations as “uninformed.”  The conspiracy theorists counter with claims that mainstream commentators or naive and have not sufficiently researched the issue.

Of the above clouds in the second video, ActivistVictor responded that they are altocumulus clouds. In this case cloud streets caused by vertical wind shear. These are a very common sight ahead of warm fronts and often precede rain. There is nothing unnatural about this. I should know, I’m a met major.

The HAARP project directs a 3.6 MW signal, in the 2.8–10 MHz region of the HF (high-frequency) band, into the ionosphere. The signal may be pulsed or continuous. Then, effects of the transmission and any recovery period can be examined using associated instrumentation, including VHF and UHF radars, HF receivers, and optical cameras. According to the HAARP team, this will advance the study of basic natural processes that occur in the ionosphere under the natural but much stronger influence of solar interaction, and how the natural ionosphere affects radio signals.

This will enable scientists to develop methods to mitigate these effects to improve the reliability or performance of communication and navigation systems, which would have a wide range of uses, civilian and military, such as an increased accuracy of GPS navigation, and advances in underwater and underground research and applications. This may lead to improved methods for submarine communication, or an ability to remotely sense and map the mineral content of the terrestrial subsurface, and perhaps underground complexes, of regions or countries, among other things. The current facility lacks the range to reach these countries, but the research could be used to develop a mobile platform.

According to HAARP’s management, the project strives for openness, and all activities are logged and publicly available. Scientists without security clearances, even foreign nationals, are routinely allowed on site. The HAARP facility regularly (once a year on most years according to the HAARP home page) hosts open houses, during which time any civilian may tour the entire facility. In addition, scientific results obtained with HAARP are routinely published in major research journals (such as Geophysical Research Letters, or Journal of Geophysical Research), written both by university scientists (American and foreign) or by U.S. Department of Defense research lab scientists. Each summer, the HAARP holds a summer school for visiting students, including foreign nationals, giving them an opportunity to do research with one of the world’s foremost research instruments.

Research

HAARP’s stated main goal is basic science research of the uppermost portion of the atmosphere, termed the ionosphere. Essentially a transition between the atmosphere and the magnetosphere, the ionosphere is where the atmosphere is thin enough that the sun’s X-rays and UV rays can reach it, but thick enough that there are still enough molecules present to absorb those rays. Consequently, the ionosphere consists of a rapid increase in density of free electrons, beginning at ~70 km, reaching a peak at ~300 km, and then falling off again as the atmosphere disappears entirely by ~1,000 km. Various aspects of HAARP can study all of the main layers of the ionosphere.

The profile of the ionosphere is highly variable, changing constantly on timescales of minutes, hours, days, seasons, and years. This profile becomes even more complex near Earth’s magnetic poles, where the nearly vertical alignment and intensity of earth’s magnetic field can cause physical effects like aurorae.

The ionosphere is traditionally very difficult to measure. Balloons cannot reach it because the air is too thin, but satellites cannot orbit there because the air is still too thick. Hence, most experiments on the ionosphere give only small pieces of information. HAARP approaches the study of the ionosphere by following in the footsteps of an ionospheric heater called EISCAT near Tromsø, Norway. There, scientists pioneered exploration of the ionosphere by perturbing it with radio waves in the 2–10 MHz range, and studying how the ionosphere reacts. HAARP performs the same functions but with more power and a more flexible and agile HF beam.

Some of the main scientific findings from HAARP include:

Generating very low frequency radio waves by modulated heating of the auroral electrojet, useful because generating VLF waves ordinarily requires gigantic antennas

Generating weak luminous glow (measurable, but below that visible with a naked eye) from absorbing HAARP’s signal

Generating extremely low frequency waves in the 0.1 Hz range. These are next to impossible to produce any other way, because the length of a transmit antenna is dictated by the wavelength of the signal it must emit.

Generating whistler-mode VLF signals that enter the magnetosphere and propagate to the other hemisphere, interacting with Van Allen radiation belt particles along the way

Polar mesospheric summer echoes (PMSE) have been studied, probing the mesosphere using the IRI as a powerful radar, and with a 28 MHz radar, and two VHF radars at 49 MHz and 139 MHz. The presence of multiple radars spanning both HF and VHF bands allows scientists to make comparative measurements that may someday lead to an understanding of the processes that form these elusive phenomena.

Instrumentation and operation

The main instrument at HAARP Station is the Ionospheric Research Instrument (IRI). This is a high power, high-frequency phased array radio transmitter with a set of 180 antennas, disposed in an array of 12×15 units that occupy a rectangle of about 33 acres (13 hectares). 

The IRI is used to temporarily energize a small portion of the ionosphere. The study of these disturbed volumes yields important information for understanding natural ionospheric processes.

During active ionospheric research, the signal generated by the transmitter system is delivered to the antenna array and transmitted in an upward direction. At an altitude between 70 km (43 mi) to 350 km (217 mi) (depending on operating frequency), the signal is partially absorbed in a small volume several tens of kilometers in diameter and a few meters thick over the IRI. The intensity of the HF signal in the ionosphere is less than 3 µW/cm², tens of thousands of times less than the Sun’s natural electromagnetic radiation reaching the earth and hundreds of times less than even the normal random variations in intensity of the Sun’s natural ultraviolet (UV) energy which creates the ionosphere. The small effects that are produced, however, can be observed with the sensitive scientific instruments installed at the HAARP Station, and these observations can provide information about the dynamics of plasmas and insight into the processes of solar-terrestrial interactions.

Each antenna element consists of a crossed dipole that can be polarized for linear, ordinary mode (O-mode), or extraordinary mode (X-mode) transmission and reception. Each part of the two section crossed dipoles are individually fed from a custom built transmitter, that has been specially designed with very low distortion. The Effective Radiated Power (ERP) of the IRI is limited by more than a factor of 10 at its lower operating frequencies. Much of this is due to higher antenna losses and a less efficient antenna pattern.

The IRI can transmit between 2.7 and 10 MHz, a frequency range that lies above the AM radio broadcast band and well below Citizens’ Band frequency allocations. The HAARP Station is licensed to transmit only in certain segments of this frequency range, however. When the IRI is transmitting, the bandwidth of the transmitted signal is 100 kHz or less. The IRI can transmit in continuous waves (CW) or in pulses as short as 10 microseconds (µs). CW transmission is generally used for ionospheric modification, while transmission in short pulses frequently repeated is used as a radar system. Researchers can run experiments that use both modes of transmission, first modifying the ionosphere for a predetermined amount of time, then measuring the decay of modification effects with pulsed transmissions.

There are other geophysical instruments for research at the Station. Some of them are:

A fluxgate magnetometer built by the University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute, available to chart variations in the Earth’s magnetic field. Rapid and sharp changes of it may indicate a geomagnetic storm.

A digisonde that provides ionospheric profiles, allowing scientists to choose appropriate frequencies for IRI operation. The HAARP makes current and historic digisonde information available online.

An induction magnetometer, provided by the University of Tokyo, that measures the changing geomagnetic field in the Ultra Low Frequency (ULF) range of 0–5 Hz.

HAARP Site

The project site (62°23′30″N 145°09′03″W) is north of Gakona, Alaska just west of Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park. An environmental impact statement led to permission for an array of up to 180 antennas to be erected.[10] The HAARP has been constructed at the previous site of an over-the-horizon radar (OTH) installation. A large structure, built to house the OTH now houses the HAARP control room, kitchen, and offices. Several other small structures house various instruments. The HAARP site has been constructed in three distinct phases:

The Developmental Prototype (DP) had 18 antenna elements, organized in three columns by six rows. It was fed with a total of 360 kilowatts (kW) combined transmitter output power. The DP transmitted just enough power for the most basic of ionospheric testing.

The Filled Developmental Prototype (FDP) had 48 antenna units arrayed in six columns by eight rows, with 960 kW of transmitter power. It was fairly comparable to other ionospheric heating facilities. This was used for a number of successful scientific experiments and ionospheric exploration campaigns over the years.

The Final IRI (FIRI) is the final build of the IRI. It has 180 antenna units, organized in 15 columns by 12 rows, yielding a theoretical maximum gain of 31 dB. A total of 3.6 MW of transmitter power will feed it, but the power is focused in the upward direction by the geometry of the large phased array of antennas which allow the antennas to work together in controlling the direction. As of March 2007, all the antennas were in place, the final phase was completed and the antenna array was undergoing testing aimed at fine-tuning its performance to comply with safety requirements required by regulatory agencies. The facility officially began full operations in its final 3.6 MW transmitter power completed status in the summer of 2007, yielding an effective radiated power (ERP) of 5.1 Gigawatts or 97.1 dBW at maximum output. However, the site typically operates at a fraction of that value due to the lower antenna gain exhibited at standard operational frequencies.

In America, there are two related ionospheric heating facilities: the HIPAS, near Fairbanks, Alaska, which was dismantled in 2009, and (currently offline for reconstruction) one at the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico. The European Incoherent Scatter Scientific Association (EISCAT) operates an ionospheric heating facility, capable of transmitting over 1 GW effective radiated power (ERP), near Tromsø, Norway. Russia has the Sura Ionospheric Heating Facility, in Vasilsursk near Nizhniy Novgorod, capable of transmitting 190 MW ERP.

HAARP is the subject of numerous conspiracy theories. Various individuals have speculated hidden motives and capabilities to the project, and have blamed it for triggering catastrophes such as floods, droughts, hurricanes, thunderstorms, earthquakes in Pakistan, Haiti and the Philippines, major power outages, the downing of TWA Flight 800, Gulf War syndrome, and chronic fatigue syndrome.

Allegations include the following:

A Russian military journal wrote that ionospheric testing would “trigger a cascade of electrons that could flip earth’s magnetic poles”.

The European Parliament and the Alaska state legislature held hearings about HAARP, the former citing “environmental concerns”.

Author of the self-published Angels Don’t Play This HAARP, Nick Begich has told lecture audiences that HAARP could trigger earthquakes and turn the upper atmosphere into a giant lens so that “the sky would literally appear to burn”.

Standford University professor Umran Inan told Popular Science that weather-control conspiracy theories were “completely uninformed,” explaining that “there’s absolutely nothing we can do to disturb the Earth’s [weather] systems. Even though the power HAARP radiates is very large, it’s minuscule compared with the power of a lightning flash—and there are 50 to 100 lightning flashes every second. HAARP’s intensity is very small.”

Computer scientist David Naiditch characterizes HAARP as “a magnet for conspiracy theorists”, saying that HAARP attracts their attention because “its purpose seems deeply mysterious to the scientifically uninformed”. Journalist Sharon Weinberger called HAARP “the Moby Dick of conspiracy theories” and said the popularity of conspiracy theories often overshadows the benefits HAARP may provide to the scientific community. Austin Baird writing in the Alaska Dispatch said, “What makes HAARP susceptible to conspiracy criticism is simple. The facility doesn’t open its doors in the same way as other federally-funded research facilities around the country, and it doesn’t go to great efforts to explain the importance of its research to the public.”

Watch out for Apophis: Asteroid named after an Egyptian demon set to pass by Earth

A 900 foot-wide asteroid will make the latest in a series of close approaches to the Earth on 9th January, 2013.

Scientists have ruled out any possibility of a cataclysmic collision - yet - but there remains a non-negligible chance of the asteroid Apophis smashing into Earth in 2036.

This year Apophis, named after an Egyptian mythological demon, will not get closer than around nine million miles.

Scientists will use the encounter to improve their estimate of just how dangerous the space rock really is.

Nasa scientists have calculated that if Apophis struck the Earth it would generate a blast equivalent to more than 500 megatons of TNT. 

In comparison, the most powerful hydrogen bomb ever detonated, the Soviet Tsar Bomba, released 57 megatons.

In 2029, Apophis is expected to come uncomfortably close, brushing past the Earth at a distance of just 30,000 kilometres. That will put the asteroid inside the orbit of communication satellites.

Current models predict a tiny but real likelihood of Apophis colliding with the Earth in 2036.

When the asteroid was discovered in 2004 scientists calculated a one-in-45 chance of an impact in 2029. 

Improved predictions later lifted the threat.

The asteroid's latest near approach will occur at midnight UK time tomorrow.

Members of the public can view the event online via the Slooh web-based sky-watching service, which collects images from observatories around the world.

Slooh president Patrick Paolucci said: 'Alone among all these near-Earth asteroids that have passed our way in recent years, Apophis has generated the most concern worldwide because of its extremely close approach in 2029 and potential impact, albeit small, in 2036.

Elenin & 19.5

We always see and make use of different constants in our daily life. A constant is a number of which the value or the ratio to others never changes.

When the human being knew more and more about science, say mathematics, they discovered  the presence of different constants in their daily lives. One of the most common constants is "pi". Pi is the constant showing the ratio of the circumference and the diameter of a circle. It is an endless number - 3.14159262329……. 

Another constant that is commonly seen is "phi".  Phi is usually called the golden ratio as it is regarded as the most aesthetically pleasing ratio in lives. The golden ratio can be seen among different organisms, including the human bodies, shells or nebulae. The acknowledgement of these ratios indicates that the human civilization has reached a certain level.

Hence in 1972, when NASA launched two robotic space probes, Pioneer 10 and Pioneer 11, they included these constants on the metal plates of the spacecrafts.  NASA hoped that other intelligent beings would know the existence of human being and their level of civilization when they met the spaceships.

Yet, when Comet Elenin entered the Solar System and was discovered by human being , Richard Hoagland, an ex-consultant of NASA, discovered that the number 19.5 appeared repeatedly in various data regarding Comet Elenin from NASA. In previous sermons, we have mentioned several times that when a tetrahedron was put inside a sphere, its apex points touched the sphere at the positions of 19.5 degrees.

Among stars, 19.5 is also a common constant.  It is the explosion point of the internal energy of a star. For instance, the Great Red Spot of Jupiter is a super atmospheric storm with a size larger than the Earth and is situated at the 19.5 degrees of Jupiter. The live volcano in Hawaii is also located at the 19.5 degrees of the Earth.

Besides, it seems that some ancient civilizations of high intelligence also knew about the secret of the 19.5 degrees. For instance, Yucatán, where the Mayan lived, is located at the 19.5 degrees of the Earth.

Moreover, though denying the important meaning of the 19.5 degrees over the years, NASA launched the first spacecraft to Mars, Mars Pathfinder, which landed on the 19.33 north latitude and 33.55 west longitude of Mars.  The figure was very close to the 19.5 degrees.  Also, the number "33", which denotes the highest degree of the Freemasons, appeared again.

Why does 19.5, a interstellar constant, appear repeatedly in Comet Elenin, a hyperdimensional education machine as named by Richard Hoagland?

Is there someone of even higher intelligence than human being wants to send some messages to the latter through this comet, just like what the human being did by using the constants on Pioneer 10 and 11 to communicate with the so-called extra-terrestrial?

From its previous movement, we see that Comet Elenin has just arrived at the position of Virgo on 29 September 2011, the Feast of Trumpets.  This fulfilled the vision mentioned in Chapter 12 of the Book of Revelation. Is the one who used this comet to communicate with human being the author of the Book of Revelation, that is, the Lord Jesus Christ?

The Irony Of 47.7 Million Americans Subsisting On Food Stamps

As of November of 2012, a mind-numbing 47.7 million Americans subsist on taxpayer-funded food stamps.  One in seven Americans cannot feed himself or herself with a job or work of any kind.  What constitutes the irony to this national tragedy?  Answer: our U.S. Congress imports 100,000 legal immigrants into the USA with green cards every 30 days. 

No matter how much poverty and unemployment blacks, whites and Hispanic Americans suffer– the leaders of this country continually pound more humans into the mix without pause.  At the same time, food banks go belly up with bare shelves. Over 13 million American children live in destitute poverty and cannot secure three square meals per day.

While Congress supports our enormous military spending into the trillions of dollars and two 10 year long wars that devour (ed) money—it fails to create jobs and feed our poorest.  It fails the fundamental rights of our own citizens to work and eat.

#10 In the United States today, close to 100 million Americans are considered to be either “poor” or “near poor”.

 #11 One university study estimates that child poverty costs the U.S. economy 500 billion dollars each year. 

#12 Households that are led by a single mother have a 31.6 percent poverty rate.

 #13 In 2010, 42 percent of all single mothers in the United States were on food stamps.

Once you research the numbers, you cannot help but look to your own U.S. Senators and House reps and see failure, duplicity and corruption.  No excuses!  How could men and women who are supposed to represent American citizens continually leave American citizens in the grips of poverty, joblessness and homelessness?

Some kind of moral, ethical and spiritual wrong grows in the nation’s capitol all the way up to the president.  American citizens become its victims.
